Praia D'El Rey Golf Course
Situated near Obidos and set within pine forests and undulating sand dunes the course has spectacular views over the Atlantic. A good variation of holes makes this Championship course a very good golfing challenge and a pleasure to play. The course measures 6467 metres with a par of 72.

Golden Eagle Golf Course
Situated near Rio Maior the Golden Eagle Golf & Country Club is one of the most exclusive golf courses in Portugal. Formerly restricted to members and guests only, this restriction was lifted in 1997 to allow visitors to play this lovely course, which is framed by the gentle pines, decorative eucalyptuses and acacias. The course measures 6200 metres with a par of 72.

Belas Golf Course
Situated slightly north of Lisbon in the town of Belas. Spreading among the hills, Belas Country Club provides an excellent view over the Sintra Mountain range. It measures 6380 metres with a par of 72 and is an 18 hole course

Penha Longa Golf Course
Situated near Sintra which is west of Lisbon. Penha Longa is a fantastic course and will be a good test of your golf skills. Designed by Robert Trent Jones II it takes in the best of the sloping terrain. The course held the Portuguese Open in 1994 & 1995. It measures 6290 metres with a par of 72. It has a five star hotel on site or the village of Cascais is close by which is full of restaurants and bars.

Estoril Golf Course
Situated west of Lisbon, Estoril Golf Course has held several Portuguese Opens and still proves to be a good test of golf. Originally designed by Mackenzie Ross it has undergone a few alterations over the years. The course measures 5238 metres and has a par of 69.

Quinta da Marinha Golf Course
Situated west of Lisbon at Cascais, Quinta da Marinha has just host the 2007 Portuguese Open. Set amongst beautiful pine trees it stretches down to Guincho beech offering wonderful views and a few picture postcard holes. The course measures 6100 metres with a par of 71.

Oitavos Golf Course
Situated close to Cascais west of Lisbon, Oitavos lies within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. It is set among pine woods and reforested dunes and being a seaside course the ocean views are present at all times. The course measures 6303 metres with a par of 71.

Aroeira Golf Course One & Two
Situated close to Caparica with its long sandy beech and just 20 minutes south of Lisbon, This championship course is set among tall pines and is a delightful course to play. The number two course opened a few years ago and makes Aroeira a very good 36 hole set up. Enjoy a drink on the lawns of the old style clubhouse that overlooks the 18th hole. Number one course measures 6040 metres with a par of 72.

Quinta do Peru
Situated South of Lisbon and a few miles north of Sesimbra Quinta do Peru offers a good golfing challenge for all standards of golfer. This is a relatively new course with a very good variety of holes to challenge your whole game. There are plenty of practice facilities to sharpen your game before taking to the course. The clubhouse offers a good veranda to sit and reflect upon your round. The course measures 6036 metres with a par of 72.
Montado Golf Course
Situated near the Castle of Palmela just a 5 min journey from Setubal and 35minutes south of Lisbon. The course will give enjoyment to players of all abilities and will allow you to test your nerve on several holes, but be warned the penalty will be high if the shot is not good. The course unfolds beneath old oaks, young olive trees and pines and measures 6003 metres with a par of 72.

Troia Golf Course
Set on a remote and wildly beautiful part of a nature reserve south of Setubal. Designed by Robert Trent Jones the course is on the beech edge with narrow greens and fairways this will be a challenge to all golfing abilities. Nonetheless this is a lovely course to play and relax in the rustic clubhouse after your round but you may need your A game to score well. The course measures 6337 metres with a par of 72.
Ribagolf Course One & Two
Situated east of Lisbon this new stunning and challenging course opened in 2004 and has two 18 hole courses set in gentle rolling landscape of cork and olive trees. Designed by Peter Townsend the course provides fresh challenges for even the most demanding of golfers. The complex has plenty of practice facilities and has been listed to host both National and European competitions. The number one course measures 6707 metres par 72 with the number two course a little shorter.

Campo Real Golf Course
Situated just 30 minutes north of Lisbon the Campo Real opened in 2005. Designed by Donald Steel this is an exciting residential, golf and leisure development. The course has been built to a good design with the greens built to USGA standard. The complex has a 5 star hotel, spa, tennis and a modern equestrian centre. The course measures 6009 metres with a par of 72.

Quinta de Cima
Golf Course This is the new sister course to Quinta de Rima and has been built to a Championship standard with dog-legs right and left well positioned bunkers with lakes and streams coming into play on several holes. This is well worth the trip to this east side of the Algarve. The course measures 6016 metres with a par of 72.

Quinta de Ria Golf Course
This spectacular course is built in the Ria Formosa Natural Park and is situated along the beech with wonderful views of the sea. The course offers a good variety of holes with water coming into play on a few holes and with good smooth greens being well protected by bunkers. The course measures 6000 metres with a par of 72.

Pinheiros Altos Golf Course
Situated close to Quinta do Lago this is an original and distinctive course with two sets of nine holes that have completely opposing characteristics. The first nine run through the pine tree hills while the second nine are down on the gently undulating ground with the water being a big feature especially on the 17th with its island green. The course offers a very good challenge to golfers of all ability. It measures 6236 metre with a par of 72.

Quinta do Lago South
This is one of the best courses in the Algarve and has hosted the Portuguese Open. The course is longer than some in the area and has two anti-clockwise nine hole loops favouring the draw on the front nine and the fade on the back nine. It is a very picturesque course that drops down to the water with the 15th being a 200 metre par 3 carry across water off the back tees. This is a real pleasure to play especially if you score well. The course measures 6488 metres with a par of 72.

Quinta do Lago North
Formerly known as Ria Formosa it is a little shorter than the South course but still offers a great golfing challenge with some very testing par fives. Good sandy soil and plenty of pine trees surround the course with good fast greens to test your putting skills. Each hole is framed and offers a good test of your golfing skills. The two courses at Quinta do Lago are a real pleasure to play. The North course measures 6205 metres with a par of 72.

San Lorenzo Golf Course
The course is owned by the Hotel Le Meridien Dona Filipa and has been voted one of the best courses in Europe. San Lorenzo features large fast greens and undulating fairways that meander through avenues of pine trees. There are some spectacular holes that overlook the sea and lakes that are full of wildlife. This is a very good test of your golfing skills and a pleasure to paly. The course measures 6825 metres with a par of 72 from the back tees.

Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course
Vale do Lobo has hosted the Portuguese Open a number of times and uses a combination of holes from both the Royal and the Ocean course. The Royal offers a good variety of holes with probably the best know hole in the Algarve being the 16th par 3, 205 metres along the cliff tops. The course measures 6050 metres with a par of 72.

Vale do Lobo Ocean Golf Course
The Ocean course is set on the sandy soil of the coast with tree lined undulating fairways. A few changes have been made to the Ocean course over the last few years that have improved the course. The back nine meanders down to the sea front with the par 3 15th running parallel with the white sandy beech, a tough hole if the wind is blowing. The course measures 5424 metres with a par of 71.

Vila Sol Golf Course
Situated between Vilamoura and Quinta do Lago, Vila Sol winds its way through a pine forest and offers a lot of very good golf holes. The narrow fairways require accurate tee shots to get yourself in play and to score well. The fast greens will also require care and attention if you are not to drop a shot or two. Vila Sol now offers 27 holes and you can choose to play all 27 or select 18 if preferred. The course measures 6189 metres with a par of 72.

Vilamoura Old Course
This is the oldest of the Vilamoura courses, designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1969. This is a great course with some very good picturesque golf holes offering a great variety of holes. Many tree lined dogleg holes with raised greens that make the approach shot a little more difficult to score well. The Old Course is a favourite of many a golfer who has played in Vilamoura and I am sure will continue to be for many years. The course measures 6254 metres with a par of 73 and should not be missed from your want to play list.

Victoria Golf Course
Designed by Arnold Palmer the Victoria has an abundance of water around the course sometimes alongside the fairways and sometimes you have to carry the water. This has been built to full Championship standards, you will need to play well round here to score well but if you are ambitious and accurate with your shots you may be rewarded. The course measures 6560 metres with a par of 72.

Pinhal Golf Course
Originally designed by Frank Pennink in 1976 it underwent changes in 1985 by the designer Robert Trent Jones. The course is set in the middle of a beautiful pine wood with panoramic views over the sea. Approach shots to the greens will need to be well judged as the greens are smaller than others in the area. The course measures 6151 metres with a par of 72.

Laguna Golf Course
Opened in 1990 the course has made full use of the wet marshy ground near the sea. The fairways are more generous than some of the other courses in the area so by keeping the ball in play you may well put a good score together if you avoid the water. The course measures 6133 metres with a par of 72 off the back tees.

Millennium Golf Course
The front nine holes of the Millennium Course are quite open with generous greens while the back nine meander through attractive pine trees and tighter fairways so your driving must be accurate to leave yourself a good approach shot. The course measures 6143 metres with a par of 72.

Penina Golf Course
Opened in 1966 and designed by Sir Henry Cotton, Penina is a championship course that has hosted the Portuguese Open 8 times. There is plenty of water on the course but with big greens to aim at. Each of the fairways are lined by tall trees with the terrain being fairly flat the course is quite easy to walk. The resort has the Le Meridien hotel on site and makes for a good base. The course measures 6273 metres with a par of 73.
Salgados Golf Course
Located near Gale beech, between Albufeira and Pera, Salgados Golf Course has been set out among the low lying wetlands and incorporates 14 water hazards. It is open to the elements and will require a good technical game to play here. The course measures 6080 metres with a par of 72 off of the back tees.

Carvoeiro Golf, Pinta & Gramacho
Located between Lagoa & Carvoeiro, Carvoeiro Golf has two courses that are laid out over scenic undulating terrain amongst olive groves that go back 600 years. Pinta course opened for play in 1992 and has earned a good reputation for its excellent condition. The courses measure 6115 metres off the back tees.

Morgado do Reguengo Golf Club
Morgado opened in 2001 and is located in Portimao. This is a very enjoyable course away from the madding crowd, lined with vineyards and fig trees on the course. The front nine is flatter with lakes and the back nine is more undulating through small valleys. The course can be played by golfers of all standards. The course measures 6999 metres with a par of 73.

Designed by Sir Henry Cotton, Alto Golf is a challenging course to golfers of all levels. Rolling fairways, good quick greens that are well guarded by strategically positioned bunkers with good scenic views all the way round. The course measures 6125 metres with a par of 73.

Situated near Lagos to the west end of the Algarve. Designed by Frank Pennink who has designed a course of undeniable beauty and quality. The course is a perfect blend of links and inland holes with the first few holes running behind the beach at Meia Praia before turning back inland along curvy tree lined valleys. Relax with a drink after your round on the veranda of the club-house that overlooks the Atlantic coastline. The course measures 5961 metres with a par of 71.

Boavista enjoys a beautiful location in the Western Algarve on a headland between Lagos and Praia da Luz commanding magnificent views of the bay of Lagos. The course has water that comes into play on 5 holes with the Atlantic visible on most holes from its cliff top position. Opened in 2002 this is an impressive championship course. The course measures 5751 metres with a par of 71.
