Belleisle Golf Club

Designed by James Braid in 1927 it is one of the best public courses in Scotland. It is a classic parkland course set within the woodland of Belleisle Park. Measuring 6431 yards with SSS of 72 off of the back tees. Map

Irvine Golf Club

Irvine GC is a pre-qualifying course when the Open Championship is held at Turnberry or Royal Troon Designed by James Braid in 1926 this traditional links course provides a challenge with no two holes the same. Set with a natural backdrop of the peaks of Arran this 6408 yard par 71 course is well worth a visit. Map

Kilmarnock Golf Club

The main course is the Barassie Links and offers one of the most challenging links layouts in Scotland. It has hosted the British Amateur Championships and was a Final Open Qualifying course in 2004. The full 6817 yards par 72 will be a good test to all golfers. Map

Western Gailes Golf Club

Founded in 1897 is situated on the Ayrshire coast and is recognised as one of Scotlands finest links courses measuring 6899yards par 71 from the championship tees. The course has played host to the Curtis Cup, PGS Championship Seniors and is also a Final Qualifying course to the Open Championship. Map

Royal Troon Golf Club

Founded in 1878 by a few golf enthusiasts it has become one of the most demanding courses on the Championship rota. The Old Course is one of the great links courses and measures 7150 yards par 71 off the Championship tees and every bit of it is a golfing test. The Portland Course although a links course is a little more sheltered, unlike the Old Course. A little shorter measuring 6289 yards par 71 off the medal tees is still pleasant to play. Map

Turnberry Golf Club

Turnberry is the scene of some of the most memorable moments in Open history, the Ailsa championship course is a legend in the world game. Stay and play the famous Ailsa Championship course and the Kintyre Course both offer splendid golf and wonderful scenery. Map

Prestwick Golf Club

Founded in 1851 and hosted the first Open in 1860, it is full of the wonderful history of golf. Visited by golfers from all around the world it is a course you should try to play and enjoy the experience of playing one of the oldest courses in golf. Measuring 6544 yards par 71 it is not the longest by today’s standard but is still a good test. Map

Southerness Golf Club

Designed by McKenzie Ross and built in 1947 as a Championship Links course measuring 6566 yards with a par 69. The course is situated on the Solway Coast giving panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Cumbrian Lake District to the south and the Galloway Hills to the west.  Map

Dundonald Golf Club

A fantastic new course built on the coast between Troon and Irvine and is part of the Loch Lomond Golf Club. Measuring 6765 yards off the medal tees and 7300 off the championship tees. (map not available)



Highlands


Grantown-On-Spey GC

Formed in 1890 the course is situated in Strathspey with some wonderful views of the Cairngorm mountain range. Measuring 5710 yards with a par of 70 it is not long by today’s modern standards but does give a fair test to golfers of all standards. Map

Spey Valley GC

This new course in the Highlands, was designed by Dave Thomas. The river Spey flows alongside some of the undulating fairways and has the Cairngorms as the backdrop to the course. Measuring 7200 yards the course has a par 5 hole that is 641 yards long off the championship tee. Map

Nairn GC

Founded in 1887 Nairn GC will test the talents of professional and amateur alike. Nestled on the edge of the Moray Firth, try to avoid the sea, which can be found on the first 7 holes. The most recent tournament to be held here was the Walker Cup in 1999. It’s 6721 yard par 71 course is a good test and a wonderful experience of golf at its best. Map

Nairn Dunbar GC

Situated on the shores of the Moray Firth and founded in 1899 the Nairn Dunbar golf course is a highly rated championship links course. It has held many tournaments over the years and is to be joint host, along with Nairn Golf Club, of the Seniors Open Amateur Championship in 2007. Measuring 6765yards par 72 this will test your golfing credentials. Map

Royal Dornoch GC

Designed by the legendary Old Tom Morris Royal Dornoch still maintains a course of high ranking within the UK and Ireland. The full 6682 yard par 70 championship links course is a pleasure to play with wonderful views all around the course. The second links course at Royal Dornoch is the Struie, which measures 6276 yards and has a par of 72 and enjoys good vies of the Dornoch Firth. Map

Brora GC

This traditional seaside links course was established in 1891 and redesigned by James Braid in 1923 and is just 20 minutes drive north of Dornoch. It measures 6110 yards and has a par of 69 and represents all the attributes of a traditional Scottish Highlands links course. Map

Boat of Garten GC

Designed by James Braid this is a wonderful course with superb views that can surely inspire your game and should not be missed if touring in the Highlands. Short by modern standard it’s 5876 yard par 70 is still well worth the visit to enjoy the uniquely attractive surroundings. Map

Cruden Bay GC

Designed by Old Tom Morris and opened in 1899 Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience, old fashion links at its best. Magnificent panoramic views and subtly contoured greens, Cruden Bay will leave you with good memories. Measuring 6397 yards par 70 a good old fashion test. Map

Royal Aberdeen GC

A traditional old Scottish links, well bunkered with undulating fairways. The ever changing wind, tight greens and a magnificent finish makes the Balgownie course a test for the very best. Measuring 6850 yards par 70. Map

Murcar Links GC

Along with Cruden Bay & Royal Aberdeen, Murcar Links makes it a hat trick of courses not to be missed. Its par 71 natural Championship links represents a truly challenging test of your golfing skills.  Map

Moray GC

Offering two good courses, The Old Course designed by Old Tom Morris a classic links course with deep bunkers, undulating gorse lined fairways and smooth fast greens a good test of golf at 6995 yard par 71. The New Course designed by Henry Cotton ever bit as good but a little shorter with its tighter fairways and smaller greens make it an examining test of golf 6008 yards par 69. Map

Elgin GC

Founded in 1906 Elgin Golf Club is a testing heath land course measuring 6401 yard par 69 and has 8 par 4 holes over 400 yards. Good condition course with views south to the Cairngorm Mountains  Map

Spey Bay GC

Spey Bay is a picturesque undulating links course with a long beach to one side. The undulating fairways are lined with gorse and proves a good test at 5726 yard par 70  Map

Royal Tarlair GC

A cliff top parkland course with panoramic views over the rugged coastline offers enjoyable golf in an ideal setting 5866 yards par 71. Map



Fife


St Andrews New

While the Old Course is the most famous the New and the Jubilee both run alongside The Old and offer a very good test to all golfers. The New Course opened in 1895 with the original Jubilee opening 2 years later in 1897. The New Course measures 6604 yards with the Jubilee measuring 6805 yards both with a standard scratch of 72. The Dukes Course

Founded in 1995 the Dukes Course is a classic Scottish parkland course. Its spectacular setting above St Andrews gives magnificent panoramic views over the countryside and down towards the sea. Designed by Peter Thomson the course measures 7271 yards and will test all standard of golfer. Map

St Andrews Bay Torrance Course

This new development has two new Championship courses sitting on top of spectacular cliffs with panoramic views overlooking the River Tay estuary and the historic skyline of St Andrews. The first designed by Sam Torrance and the late Gene Sarazen sweeps is way down to the coastal edge and measures 7037 yards with a par of 72. Wonderful setting and well worth the visit to this new course in St Andrews. Map

St Andrews Bay Devlin Course

The Devlin course is on the same complex as The Torrance course. This Championship course was designed by Bruce Devlin and the late Gene Sarazen and is a testament to Bruce Devlins experience and expertise. The course sweeps its way along the rugged coastline and will test your ability over the full 7049 yards par 72 stretch. Both courses add to a truly rich area of quality golf courses. Map

Kingsbarns GC

The Kingsbarns Golf Links opened in 1999 to wide acclaim and has already hosted the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This is a true links course with views of the sea on nearly every hole, once played it will never be forgotten. Measuring a full 7126 yards par 72 off the championship tees Kinsbarns is situated only 7 miles southeast of St Andrews and is a must to fit into your trip of the area. Map

Ladybank GC

Ladybank is a course of outstanding quality and rare beauty, it provides a wonderful wildlife habitat and red squirrels are a resident of the proliferation of Scots Pine around the course. Ladybank has been an Open Qualifying course many times and the beautiful tree lined parkland layout will give you a wonderful tranquil golfing experience. Measuring 6581 yards par 71 it provides a worthwhile alternative to the rugged links courses around the area. Map

Carnoustie GC

Hosting the 2007 Open, Carnoustie is steeped in golfing history. It is still a public links course and the opportunity is there for everyone to play the Championship Links and walk in the footsteps of the golfing greats. Carnoustie offers a fantastic golf challenge to all who play it. Wind, bunkers and the Barry Burn will test your golfing abilities. Measuring 6941 yards par 72 make sure this is on your golfing list.  Map

Forfar GC

Forfar Golf Club was founded in 1871 this wooded heathland course and is located only 12 miles from Carnoustie in the heart of picturesque Angus and provides the ideal test for all abilities of golfer. A very pleasant 6066 yard par 69 course. Map

Letham Grange Resort & GC

This venue has two courses, the Old Course and the shorter Glens Course. The Old Course provides a blend of tree lined parkland and open rolling fairways and the 6632 yard par 73 course will give you a good test especially the 160 yard eighth par 3 all carry over water. Map

Panmure GC

Panmure Golf Club is nestled next to Carnoustie and is a Local Final QualifyingVenue for the 2007 Open. The links measure 6317 yards and there are 83 bunkers, 81 spread over 15 holes. Panmure will give you a good but enjoyable golf challenge. Map

Monifieth GC

Monifieth is next door to Panmure and makes a hat trick of good links courses in a very small area. The 6655 yard par 71 links with its narrow running fairways, fast greens and deep revetted bunkers will prove a good test to the best of golfers. Map

Downfield GC

Downfield is one of the best inland courses in the area and is also a Final Qualifying Course for the 2007 Open. Situated in stunning parkland on the outskirts of Dundee, it is a golfing experience you should try not to miss. Downfield measures 6817 yards par 73 off the championship tees. Map

Scotscraig GC

Scotscraig is situated just 15 minutes outs of St Andrews and is a heathland links course that will test your golfing skills. Measuring 6669 yards par 71 off the Championship tees. Scotsgraig has hosted many competitions over the years and is a pre qualifying course when the Open is held at St Andrews. A very nice place to play golf. Map

Leven GC

Boasting as the 11th oldest course in the world the Championship course at Leven has been used as a final pre-qualifying course to the Open when held at St Andrews. This true seaside links course measures 6506 yards par 71 off the championship tees and is well worth the visit. Map

Lundin Links GC

Designed by Jame Braid, Lundin Links is just 30 minutes from St Andrews and is one of Scotland’s lesser known gems. A pre-qualifying course to the Open when it is held at St Andrews. A complex seaside links course with open burns and strategic bunkering, Lundin presents its self as a good challenge to all golfers. The links measure 6371 yards and has a standard scratch of 71 Map

Crail GC

The worlds 7th oldest golf club, Crail Balcomie Links is not long by today’s standard but the position and history of the course makes it a must to play. Several of the fairways run alongside the golden sandy bay and decisions will have to be made whether to take on the carry or not. In 1998 a second course was added, Craighead, which has wonderful panoramic views of the sea. It is a testing course with bunkers a plenty. Balcomie measures 5861 yards par 69 and Craghead measures 6728 yards par 71 Map

Drumoig Hotel & GC

Stay in one of the 24 lodges and play this 6835 yard par 72 course. Drumoig has been open for 10 years and is situated just 8 miles north of St Andrews. The course provides an excellent golfing challenge while enjoying the views across St Andrews Bay and the River Tay towards Dundee and Carnoustie. Map

Gleneagles Hotel & Golf

Addicted to golf, well Gleneagles can offer you everything. Three wonderful Championship courses, a relaxing clubhouse to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat after your round plus the 5 star Hotel to stay in and spoil yourself. The courses give plenty of natural beauty with a wonderful backdrop of the Perthshire hills. The Kings course opened in 1919 and is a James Braid designed masterpiece, which has tested both the best professional and amateur golfer throughout the years. The full 6790 yard par 71 course will give you a good but very enjoyable round of golf. The Queens course is shorter but is still full of natural beauty and requires a lot of skill to plot your way round the 5965 yard par 68. The new course on the scene is the PGA Centenary course created by Jack Nicklaus and will host the 40th Ryder Cup in 2014. This is a modern classic combining the best of the Kings & Queens and measures 7288 yards par 73 off the championship tees Map

Blairgowrie Landsdowne

The Blairgowrie Golf Club was founded in 1889 and is situated in the heart of the magnificent Perthshire countryside. The club has 2 wonderful 18 hole courses, the Rosemount and the Lansdowne both set in heather lined avenues of pine and silver birch. Both courses give a feeling of peace and tranquillity whilst walking the wonderful fairways. The Rosemount measures 6580 yards standard scratch 73 and the Lansdowne measures 6802 yards standard scratch 74. Make a day of it and play both. Map

South East


Gullane GC

Gullane Golf Club offers Championship quality links golf with dramatic views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and Fife. There are 3 courses, numbers 1,2 and 3. Gullane number 1 has a long history of hosting international championship events. The quick greens, numerous bunkers and sea breezes make for a good challenge to any golfer. Number 1 measures 6466 yards with a par of 71. Number 2 course runs alongside the number 1 for the first 7 holes then sweeps down to the nature reserve next to Aberlady Bay before heading back towards the visitors clubhouse. The course measures 6244 yards with a par of 71. Number 3 course, is much shorter measuring 5252 yards with a par of 68 but don’t be fooled by its length you will still need accurate shots to score well. Map

Muirfield GC

Muirfield has hosted the Open Championship no less than 15 times and from the championship tee it stretches to 6970 yards with a par of 70 add the 151 bunkers positioned around the course you must treat this with respect to score well. This is one of the best courses in the world. Map

Musselburgh GC

The Musselburgh Golf Course is a demanding parkland course and is densely populated with trees. At 6725 yards long and a par 71 it is a real test for long hitting. Map

Royal Musselburgh GC

Designed by James Baird this parkland course offers views of Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat. A tough back nine with a series of par 4 holes well protected by trees. The magnificent clubhouse has a superb collection of memorabilia. The course measures 6237 yards and has a par of 70. Map

North Berwick GC

The West Links offers a unique golfing experience, and poses a real challenge to even the best of golfers. It is a true links course starting in the town and stretching west along the shore of the Firth of Forth complete with revetted bunkers, blind holes, drives over walls and burns together with magnificent views towards the sea. North Berwick is well worth the visit. The course measures 6420 yards and has a par of 71. Map

Glen GC

Situated in North Berwick, The Glen Golf Club runs along the edge of a breath-taking coastline with stunning views of Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth The Glen will leave you with good memories of a pleasurable day. The course measures 6321 yards with a par of 70 Map

Whitekirk Golf & CC

Whitekirk opened in 1995 and was designed by Cameron Sinclair using the natural water hazards and undulating terrain to produce a testing golf challenge. Measuring 6526 yards off the back tees with a par of 72. Map

Dunbar GC

Dunbar East Links is situated on the estuary of the Firth of Forth, it is a breathtaking layout of a Championship links course that stretches over 6404 yards of coastal terrain. Being on the coast the wind can play a big part on how you score. Map

Cardrona Hotel & GC

Cardrona Golf Course was designed by Dave Thomas and is a challenging course set within some of the Scottish Borders most attractive scenery. The championship standard course is a combination of parkland/woodland and is built with USGA specification greens. Other activities are also available through the Hotel.
